About the Trainer

Meet Alex Cox

I’m Alex Cox, owner and dog trainer at Maximus K9 LLC, serving Fayetteville, Hope Mills, and surrounding North Carolina communities.

My goal is to help owners build a better working relationship with their dogs through practical obedience training, consistent expectations, and guidance that can be used at home and in everyday life. Whether you are raising a puppy or looking to improve an older dog’s manners, I work with you to identify your goals and choose the right training approach.

Training Education & Credentials

Penn Foster — Dog Obedience Trainer/Instructor

I earned my Dog Obedience Trainer/Instructor diploma from Penn Foster College on June 22, 2026. My formal training education supports my work with dogs and their owners through Maximus K9.

AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator — Application Pending

My application to become an American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen Evaluator is currently awaiting approval. I am not yet an approved AKC CGC Evaluator, and this page will be updated if approval is granted.

Military Background

Before founding Maximus K9, I served for more than 23 years in the United States Army, retiring as a Master Sergeant (E-8). My military assignments included the 82nd Airborne Division, 4th Ranger Training Battalion, 25th Infantry Division, and JRTC Operations Group.

That background shaped the professionalism, preparation, and attention to detail I bring to operating my business. My dog-training education comes from Penn Foster and my continued work with dogs and their owners.
